Organising Chairperson of the 11th COSC UM-APOTS Ophthalmic Trauma Meeting 2022
After a 5-year intermission, University Malaya is excited as it is our turn to host the upcoming Conjoint Ophthalmology Scientific Conference (COSC) on 17-18 September 2022.
We are pleased to announce that the meeting will go big this year as it will be held in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Ophthalmic Trauma Society (APOTS) to give valuable opportunities for our attendees to be a part of an international conference in our very own shores.
The theme of the conference is Repair, Restore, Rehabilitate, pRevent - Ophthalmic Trauma 360°.
Malaysia's travel borders have re-opened on the 1st April 2022. We welcome everyone both international and national to our full in-person conference in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia!
Since ocular trauma is relevant to all ophthalmologists, the Scientific Committee is vigorously planning an intensive program encompassing all the subspecialities in ophthalmology. There will be sessions curated specially for trainees or consultants as well as common sessions such as the plenary sessions, symposiums, ICs, industry sponsored sessions, award ceremonies and many more.
The annual Inter-University Quiz which is a highlight of COSC will be held on the last day. We urge our universities to get ready their teams early for an exhilarating quiz.
We welcome everyone, both national and international to submit their trauma related abstracts and for our national delegates, COSC will be accepting abstracts on other segments of ophthalmology. All successful abstracts will be published in the Malaysian Journal of Ophthalmology (MyJO).
All Ophthalmologists are also invited to send in videos for the Surgical Video Sessions. The aim of this program is to share techniques and surgical approaches with all members of the ophthalmology surgical team to improve the care of our patients.
Most importantly, the reason why we meet is not just to gain scientific knowledge but to connect in-person with experts around the globe and in our own backyard. We look forward to seeing fellow ophthalmologists, trainees, and industry partners in-person.
It is going to be fantastic for the ophthalmology fraternity to come together and share knowledge, experience, and inspiration with local and world experts in the field. On behalf of the 11th COSC organising committee, we look forward to welcoming you all soon in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
